Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Project Manager to lead and mature enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. This role will oversee data governance frameworks, metadata management, and information governance catalogs, while working closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure trusted, compliant, and well-managed data assets across the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of hands-on governance tooling experience and leadership capabilities, with the ability to drive governance adoption, standards, and best practices at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage enterprise Data Governance and Information Governance initiatives.
- Define, implement, and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models.
- Own and manage Information Governance Catalogs, including metadata, data lineage, and business definitions.
- Act as a key liaison between business, data, compliance, and IT teams to identify critical data elements (CDEs) and assign data ownership and stewardship.
- Ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, and risk management across enterprise data platforms.
- Drive onboarding of data assets into governance and catalog tools, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Oversee governance workflows, stewardship processes, and issue resolution.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Data Consultants / Information Management Analysts.
- Support audits, regulatory requirements, and enterprise data initiatives through strong governance practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Information Management, or Data Management roles.
- Proven experience in a Data Governance Lead or Manager capacity.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with Alation (catalog administration, metadata management, stewardship workflows).
- Strong knowledge of Information Governance tools such as Alation, Collibra, Informatica, or similar platforms.
